How To Go From Stressed To Refreshed

Why your brain dulls down when you are stressed and how to get back your power and creativity!

According to Harvard Medical School it is not uncommon to feel disorganized and forgetful when you're under a lot of stress as stress is known to be linked to loss of memory. However, long term stress and pressure to perform may actually change the structure your brain.

“It has been shown that prolonged stress leads to less activity in the parts of the brain that handle higher-order tasks — for example, the prefrontal cortex — and to more activity in the primitive parts of the brain that are focused on survival, such as the amygdala. It's much like what would happen if you exercised one part of your body and not another.” So, a brain that is under long term pressure to succeed essentially builds up mainly the part designed to respond to stress - whilst the part of the brain where intelligence and creativity are activated loose out and take a back seat.
